The collaborative Houston art duo, DeeJon, consists of the classically trained fine artist Marjon F. Aucoin, and the self-taught, colorblind contemporary visionary Dandee Warhol. Their installment in the second of the Pennzoil Place Artist Series brings geometric shapes, vibrant colors, and a functionality rarely seen in art exhibits. The interactivity, as well as the collaborative element shared between the artists and the public, creates an immersive and inviting environment in which to engage. Create your own composition with DeeJon’s rotating wall and experience the inspirational transience of imagination.
Houston native and current Austinite J Muzacz brought the Pennzoil Place Artist Series to life with his 8’x8’x8’ painted cube mural. Using elements from the unique architectural facets of Pennzoil Place, as well as cheeky quotes from the building’s architect Philip Johnson, J Muzacz has created a vibrant demonstration of the distinct character Pennzoil Place possesses. His week-long engagement in the lobby not only captured the spirit of downtown, but also the fascination of passersby with the live, immersive, and authentic act of bringing art to the daily lives of those around him.
